LANXESS Presenting New Solution for Microbial Control in Industrial Water Systems at IWC 2017

Pittsburgh, PA – November 9, 2017– Specialty chemicals company LANXESS will introduce a new addition to its portfolio of biocidal actives and formulations for water system microbial control at the 2017 International Water Conference taking place in Orlando, Florida, from November 12 – 16. 

Preventol DP 1021 is a broad spectrum biocide developed for use in industrial water systems to control and prevent biofilm formation. It consists of a synergistic blend of a strong biocidal active (DGH) with a surface activating biocide (Bronopol) to provide increased microbial protection in water systems. In addition to microbial control, this new blend helps to reduce the buildup of organic load on the surface of the water treatment systems, thereby minimizing the formation of biofilms.

Easily incorporated in water, Preventol DP 1021 is effective against aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, including sulfate-reducing and acid-producing bacteria. It performs at low dosage levels (<100 ppm), is non-corrosive for common materials and chemistries used in water treatment, and is a non-sensitizing biocide. It has achieved U.S. EPA registration for applications in industrial process water; oil and gas; adhesives; pigments and filler dispersions; and polymer emulsions. 

At the IWC, Cecilia McGough, Technical Marketing Manager for LANXESS Corporation’s MPP business unit, will present the new Preventol DP 1021 in case studies during an info-share suite presentation on Tuesday, November 14, from 7:30 – 9:00 a.m. The company will showcase its full portfolio of biocides for water treatment applications in booth #616.
